The
Meeting Place of the Annunciation (also know as 'of the
Foresi') was founded in 1619 by Father Antonio De
Colellis. The structure, going back to the beginning of
1600, had been part of the first ancient farm building
which was adapted as a monastery by Fr. Carafa.
The Meeting Place is pleasantly constructed. It has an
original marble floor with decorations typical of Naples
in the year 600. Its first official document is dated
1611.
It was compiled by Pope Paul V and sent to "the
Friendly Confraternity of the Souls in Purgatory,
situated in the church of St. Mary of the Mountains in
the suburb of S. Anthony Abbot on the Lower Slope of Capo
de Monte of the city of Naples".
