This was begun in 1906 thanks to gift of 1,000 lira from an ex American Passionist and the interest of Monsignor Alfano. It was finished in 1907.
The Father Provincial gave the statue of the saint which was blessed in the parish church of Saints John and Paul by Dom Giuseppe Speno. After a solemn procession from the church it was erected in the monastery on the 19th of October, 1907.
In 1931 the chapel was restored and enriched with seven paintings relating to the spirituality of the saint. These were the work of Ettore Ballerini. At the same time the statue was restored by Giuseppi Mauro di Lecce.
